Carpenter Farraday required a new site, built around the WordPress CMS, to highlight their practice and list of prestigious clients.
My role was to develop the site from static Photoshop files, using HTML and CSS to build cross-browser compatible layouts and styles which I then worked in to a WordPress theme to suit the desired site architecture.
The site features full-width backgrounds and many elements animated using the jQuery framework, my personal favourite being the drawer-style drop-down menu.

Shadow Project Management needed a site to help explain the services they provide as well as showing their portfolio of previous projects with photographic slideshows.
I was responsible for building the site, setting up WordPress and developing a custom theme, using static Photoshop files as reference.

I was asked by Propellernet to develop an email template to use on the MailChimp email marketing platform.
The newsletter highlights latest blog posts, current favourites and general goings on at the web marketing agency.
I’m also responsible for sending out the newsletter for Propellernet, adding content and making sure the monthly mailing goes out on time. Before we launched the first newsletter, I made sure that their big list of existing contacts made it safely in to the new system.

This project was a new site to highlight the portfolio of the partners at Paramount A+D.
My role was to develop the site from static images, working with the designer to realise both interaction and content management. The Portfolio page is of particular interest, with a grid of project thumbnails dynamically highlighted according to which category is selected.
Since building the initial site, we have also added a News section to allow Paramount to showcase new projects and proposals.
The site is built around the WordPress CMS, makes use of custom jQuery scripts for animation and interaction, and uses web fonts from TypeKit.Design by CarringtonGriffin Design, Lewes.
rankin.sightsavers.org (no longer online)
Using stunning images by photographer, Rankin, this site was created for SightSavers' Women and Blindness campaign to highlight the fact that two thirds of blind people in the world are women.
My role on the project was to implement layout and styles, create animation effects (using the jQuery JavaScript framework) and provide accessible, search-engine friendly markup. Working with the Creative Director, Producer and Web Developers, I helped inform and influence the overall direction and implementation of the project.

thespark.t-mobile.co.uk (no longer online)
The Spark was a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, devised by T-Mobile with their partners, TimeBank. The aim of the project was to unite young people not in employment, education or training in a chosen area of the UK around a particular social issue, with the aim of developing a mobile phone application that would help tackle that issue.
NixonMcInnes were asked to develop a website that would support the project groups, collect the thoughts and experiences of group members and volunteers, and engage the public to suggest ideas and decide on the issues to be tackled.
Working with static mockups from the Creative Director and Designer, I was responsible for developing the markup, layout and styling that would re-create the designs as an accessible, flexible website.
Early in the design process, I also assisted in creating wireframes and created a prototype of the site to help demonstrate some of the ideas to the clients.
The site used the ExpressionEngine CMS, with templates that could adapt to different project stages.

blog.goodwithmoney.co.uk (no longer online)
The Good with Money blog for Co-operative Financial Services began life as a single campaign site to show how microfinance has helped rebuild lives in Bosnia. It took the form of a blog, following former refugee, Belma Gracankic, as she returned to her childhood home town.
Inspired by Belma's blog, CFS decided that they wanted to expand the site to provide coverage of other campaigns and ethical issues. This required a new approach to the design to incorporate the many issues that matter to them.
Developed using the WordPress CMS, I was responsible for developing the layout, styling and markup of the various templates that were required to present campaigns, news, blog posts, visitor comments and video items.

stannahstairlifts.co.uk (site since re-designed)
I was responsible for the markup, implementation of layout and styling for Stannah Stairlifts' UK ecommerce site, which was developed using the Joomla! CMS.
A high level of accessiblity was required, so we worked with the RNIB and were awarded See It Right accreditation, which takes a pragmatic approach to the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
